Teacher posts a public plan page?

Many teachers publish weekly homework and lesson plans on a public web page instead of a calendar. BellBoard can read these too.

PlanbookTeacher lesson plans · Web page linkShow instructions

How to find the link

  1. Open the plan page your teacher shares with families.
  2. Check that the address starts with app.planbook.com/plans and ends with a long set of letters and numbers.
  3. Copy the whole address from your browser.
  4. In BellBoard, open Settings → Sources, choose Planbook, and paste it.
1

Choose your system

Find the service your school uses and follow its instructions to copy a private calendar link.

2

Paste the link

In BellBoard, open Settings → Sources, choose the system and child, then paste the link.

3

Forward email too

Calendar feeds may miss newsletters, permission slips, and reminders. Forward those messages separately.

Keep calendar links private. Anyone with a subscription link may be able to read that calendar. BellBoard stores it for your family and uses it only to check for updates.

SCHOOL EMAIL

No calendar link? Forward the email.

BellBoard can collect information from messages you choose to send it. This works with newsletters, teacher reminders, sports updates, and systems that keep their calendars inside a parent portal.

  1. 1Open BellBoard Settings → School email.
  2. 2Copy your family’s private BellBoard address.
  3. 3Forward a message manually or create a forwarding rule.
These are examples of services that may send school email. BellBoard does not claim a direct connection to them.

Common questions

Where do I find my school calendar link?

Pick the system your school uses in the list above. Each guide shows where to copy the subscription link, usually under Calendar, Subscribe, Share, or Export.

Can I use a downloaded .ics file?

Use the subscription link instead. A downloaded .ics file is a one-time snapshot that does not update, while a subscription link keeps BellBoard current.

Is it safe to paste a private calendar link into BellBoard?

Treat the link like a password. BellBoard stores it for your family and uses it only to check for updates. If a link is ever exposed, reset it in the school system and add the new one.

Does BellBoard need my school portal password?

No. BellBoard uses the calendar link your school system publishes and never asks for a portal password.

My school system is not listed. What can I do?

Look for an iCal, ICS, or webcal option and choose Other calendar. If there is none, forward the school emails to your family private BellBoard address.

Don’t see your system?

Email support@bellboard.net with its name. If it publishes a safe calendar link, we’ll research the steps.
